The Invisible World That Leaders Create"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To: The Great Leaders Who Have a Passion for Continuous Learning<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Edgar Schein, former professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management who is generally credited with inventing the term \u2018corporate culture\u2019 writes:\u00a0 \u201cIf you do not manage culture, it manages you, and you may not even be aware of the extent to which this is happening.\u201d This quote was the headline of another wonderful leadership reflection in this month\u2019s note from the <a href=\"https:\/\/sn2prd0102.outlook.com\/owa\/redir.aspx?C=DQ-EDGXb0EKCYRcAAR0Lqzc9IxHCdc4IwAJcxQuJEgs_izxT2AOO7aWTkcvhvUvVMx_4rzxgn3g.&amp;URL=http%3a%2f%2fwww.leadershipforward.com%2fhiebert.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Leadership Forward Team<\/em><\/a>, founded by Tom Hiebert, renowned leadership guru and consultant.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It provides great leaders the opportunity to reflect on how their choices, behaviors and actions impact their organizations.\u00a0 In a broader sense it also invites them to ask them to apply these same questions to their personal life and\u00a0 work in the communities in which they serve.\u00a0 Pause briefly as you read this wonderful reflection, and see the world your actions and those around you are creating.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Reflection:\u00a0 Think about the culture of your organization and the choices that you and other leaders are making:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What are you paying attention to?\u00a0 What is being ignored?<\/p>\n<p>What are you role modeling?<\/p>\n<p>What are you promoting and rewarding?<\/p>\n<p>What are you punishing and devaluing?<\/p>\n<p>How do you behave in moments of high stress and adversity?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLife is the sum of all your choices\u201d wrote Albert Camus, 20th century French author.\u00a0 \u201cIt is the big choices we make that set our direction.\u00a0 It is the smallest choices we make that get us to the destination.\u201d writes Dr. Shad Helmstetter, author.\u00a0 Each of these choices have consequences and implications, intended or unintended \u2013 on organizations, families, communities.\u00a0 May you always take those brief moments to reflect on your actions and choices\u2026that you will learn from them, and grow to be more than you ever dreamed you could be.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Have a beautiful day and an incredible week!!!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mike<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To: The Great Leaders Who Have a Passion for Continuous Learning &nbsp;
