To: The Great Leaders Who Have a Passion for Continuous Learning<\/span><\/p>\n

In a recent Holstee Reflection blog,\u00a0Dave Radparvar<\/a>\u00a0shares the story of Remy from the Pixar film,\u00a0Ratatouille<\/a>. In it, great leaders are reminded of the living presence of change as part of their life and the world in which they live.<\/span><\/p>\n

Remy, a rat with an incredible sense of smell and taste, dreams of becoming a chef. But his father, Django, wants him to stay within the rat community and not risk his life (or their lives) by meddling in human activities. Django thought Remy\u2019s skills were best suited to sniffing out rat poison. Remy had bigger dreams, but it meant charting an unknown and possibly dangerous path on his own.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Halfway through the film, is the memorable quote that captures the joy of change. Django, the fathers says to Remy, “You can’t change nature<\/i>.” \u00a0to which Remy responds: \u201cChange is nature<\/i>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Radpavar writes: \u201cIt\u2019s a simple and beautiful reminder that \u2014 whether we like it or not \u2014 the world is constantly changing. We can either stick to our old ways while the world evolves around us \u2014 or we can be a part of, and positively influence, that change.<\/i>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Socrates<\/a>\u00a0tells great leaders: \u201cThe secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new<\/i>.\u201d\u00a0 May your choose your life to be limitless in its breadth and depth \u2013 a life expanded in all its beauty by a ceaseless and relentless pursuit always moving from the \u2018as is\u2019 to our dreams and passion for \u2018what can be.\u2019 JD Houston captured this beautifully writing: \u201c If you want something in life you\u2019ve never had, you\u2019ll have to do something you\u2019ve never done.\u201d Enjoy every moment of newness on your magnificent journey.<\/span><\/p>\n
