{"id":292,"date":"2011-07-08T08:34:20","date_gmt":"2011-07-08T12:34:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/cld\/?p=292"},"modified":"2011-07-08T08:37:05","modified_gmt":"2011-07-08T12:37:05","slug":"leadership-junior-mba-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/StillmanLeaders\/2011\/07\/leadership-junior-mba-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Leadership Junior MBA Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"Normal__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial';text-decoration: none\">We are proud to celebrate another great year of our Junior MBA Program.\u00a0 Since <\/span><span class=\"Normal__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial'\">the Spring of 1994 the program has been a collaborative venture between the West Side High School-Business and Finance Institute of Newark, New Jersey and the Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey.\u00a0 This year Orange High School, under the leadership of Eldridge Hawkins, Major of Orange, New Jersey, and Ronald Lee, Superintendent, Orange Public Schools, joined the Program. This new collaboration provided the students from each school new opportunities for growth and partnership in their learning experience. Ms. Jocelyn Easley, Orange High School, and Ms. Gail Sherman, West Side High School, are the Faculty Directors for their School.\u00a0 Their guidance, coaching and support contributed greatly to the students\u2019 achievement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"graphic02\"><\/a><span class=\"Normal__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial'\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sn2prd0102.outlook.com\/owa\/ev.owa?ns=WebReady&amp;ev=GetFile&amp;canary=HAhhEX--t0C80OB6qNobydMZ9EkCEc4IGefFeqOQgdx8TTijqfUzNC-mlzJo3PPTYmvRE1y5_rs.&amp;d=3F-2F-B3-07-48-DA-FA-29-82-5D-3B-7F-DF-B6-51-E0&amp;fileName=1_0001.jpg\" alt=\"image\" width=\"623\" height=\"267\" \/>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Normal__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial'\">This highly successful year was celebrated at the Junior MBA Graduation Dinner which was held on Wednesday, May 18, in the University\u2019s Chancellor\u2019s Suite.\u00a0 In attendance were Mayor Hawkins, Superintendent Lee, Jocelyn Easley, Gail Sherman, the Dean of the Stillman School of Business, Joyce Strawser, Mr. Fred Ganning, Junior MBA Program Director, and Professor Michael Reuter, Director, Center for Leadership Development.\u00a0 A large number of family and friends joined the students in recognizing their success.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Normal__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial'\">The following students were recognized for their outstanding achievement:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Normal__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial';text-decoration: none\">Orange High School<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Plain_0020Text__Char\" style=\"font-style: italic;font-family: 'Arial','Arial';font-size: 11pt;text-decoration: none\">LeAndrea Johnson\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Plain_0020Text__Char\" style=\"font-style: italic;font-family: 'Arial','Arial';font-size: 11pt\">Cody Licorish\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Plain_0020Text__Char\" style=\"font-style: italic;font-family: 'Arial','Arial';font-size: 11pt\">Dayna Knight\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Plain_0020Text__Char\" style=\"font-style: italic;font-family: 'Arial','Arial';font-size: 11pt\">Myles Mosley<\/span><span class=\"Plain_0020Text__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial','Arial';font-size: 11pt\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Plain_0020Text__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial','Arial';font-size: 11pt;text-decoration: none\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Plain_0020Text__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial','Arial';font-size: 11pt;text-decoration: none\">West Side High School<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Plain_0020Text__Char\" style=\"font-style: italic;font-family: 'Arial','Arial';font-size: 11pt;text-decoration: none\">Robert Goka\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Normal__Char\" style=\"font-style: italic;font-family: 'Arial';text-decoration: none\">Aneika Headly<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Plain_0020Text__Char\" style=\"font-style: italic;font-family: 'Arial','Arial';font-size: 11pt;text-decoration: none\">Breona Oliver\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Plain_0020Text__Char\" style=\"font-style: italic;font-family: 'Arial','Arial';font-size: 11pt\">Chelsea Stewart\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Normal__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial';text-decoration: none\">In the address to the graduating students both Mayor Hawkins <\/span><span class=\"Normal__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial'\">and Superintendent Lee applauded the students for the commitment to themselves in undertaking and successfully achieving the goal with which they challenged themselves.\u00a0 They also recognized the importance of the Junior MBA Program\u2019s in developing leaders and providing the opportunity for the students to realize their possibilities, talents and skills. Ms. Easley and Ms. Sherman expressed their delight with the students\u2019 achievement and emphasized their excitement for the coming years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Normal__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial';text-decoration: none\">The highlight of the evening came after the certificate presentation when many of the parents stood up at their table <\/span><span class=\"Normal__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial'\">or came to the program to express their heartfelt and emotional thanks to the Mayor, Superintendent, Dean and Faculty for the incredible opportunity provided to their children.\u00a0 They had pushed and challenged themselves, and found the greatness that is within them. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Normal__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial'\">Please join me in applauding these outstanding students who role model the Junior MBA Program\u2019s highest standards and values of academic and performance excellence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Normal__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial'\">The Junior MBA Program\u2019s great success in the development of these young leaders is attributed in thankful appreciation to the Provident Foundation and the JC Amelior Foundation whose passionate commitment and caring for youth development have enabled the Program\u2019s continued operation over the years.\u00a0 Their efforts have touched the lives of more than thirty students.\u00a0 For this and more we thank them for their continued, unwavering support to the Program and students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Normal__Char\" style=\"font-family: 'Arial'\">Michael M.
