In his writing Hayden brings additional depth to the idea that \u201c<em>what we\u00a0<u>think<\/u>\u00a0is what we are<\/em>\u201d with the slight nuance of belief &#8211; \u201c<em>what we\u00a0<u>believe<\/u>\u00a0is what we are<\/em>.\u201d And with this, magic happens. It is no longer about just thinking, but about the great leaders\u2019 belief systems that molds their thought processes (i.e. thinking). The process starts, he suggests, by \u201crefusing to adopt certain mindsets\u201d:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em>&#8220;Someone is always holding me back.&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Don\u2019t blame others; accept ownership.\u00a0<em>\u201cYou can&#8217;t control other people. You can control only yourself.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>&#8220;I never seem to get the right opportunities.&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 You make your own opportunities; you are not a victim.\u00a0<em>\u201cAccess to opportunity is nearly unlimited.&#8221;<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>&#8220;I would definitely work harder if I knew it would be worth it.&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Expectations of rewards don\u2019t achieve the reward; hard work does. \u2013\u00a0<em>\u201cSuccessful people, in all areas of life, earn bigger \u2018payoffs\u2019 by working incredibly hard well before any potential return is in sight; they earn their success through effort and sacrifice.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>&#8220;If I just had the time.&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0We all have the same 24 hours in a day. \u2013\u00a0<em>\u201cNever think about how time controls you &#8212; instead, think of how you can best control your time.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>&#8220;If only I had a special talent.&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Focus on what you do have\u00a0&#8230; you and the incredible gifts no one else in the world has. &#8211;\u00a0<em>\u201cIt&#8217;s easy, and extremely tempting, to assume successful people have some intangible entrepreneurial something &#8211; ideas, talent, drive, skills, creativity, etc. &#8211; that you don&#8217;t have. In fact that&#8217;s rarely true\u00a0&#8230; sure, other people may have skills you don&#8217;t have &#8211; at least not yet &#8211; but you have skills other people don&#8217;t have. You don&#8217;t need a gift. You just need yourself &#8212; and a willingness to put in a tremendous amount of hard work, effort, and perseverance\u00a0&#8230; focus on what you do have &#8211;and more importantly, what you are willing to do that others are not. That is your true gift.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Walt_Disney\">Walt Disney<\/a>\u00a0told great leaders: \u201c<em>First, think. Second Believe. Third, dream. And finally dare<\/em>.\u201d As\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Josh_Groban\">Josh Groban<\/a>\u00a0sings in the song,\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XjQ1smPQJbs\">Believe<\/a><\/em>, from the movie\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Polar_Express_%28film%29\">The Polar Express<\/a>:\u00a0<em>\u201cYou have everything you need if you just believe.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Think, believe, dream and dare to be more than you ever dreamed you could be\u00a0&#8230; and more\u00a0&#8230; so much more.
