S. Army\u2019s simple, but profound, leadership model,\u00a0<em>Be-Know-Do<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>BE\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u2013 this is all about your character as a leader and is foundational to your ability to lead.\u00a0\u00a0It gives you the courage to do what is right regardless of the circumstances or the consequences.\u00a0\u00a0As part of BE, you should be aware of your personal core values as well as your organization\u2019s values.\u00a0\u00a0For the Army, their values are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Loyalty<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Duty<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Respect<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Selfless Service<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Honor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Integrity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Personal Courage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>KNOW<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 This is about the knowledge and skill sets you need to be competent as a leader and cover four areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Conceptual skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Technical skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Tactical skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>DO\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u2013 Leaders act. They bring together everything they are, everything they believe, and everything they know how to do to provide purpose, direction, and motivation.\u00a0\u00a0This involves the following three leader actions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Influencing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Operating<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Improving<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Awesome in its simplicity and elegance, the three words capture the essence of great leadership. On your magnificent journey, may you be, know and do everything to be more than you ever dreamed you could be. Dare to live the extraordinary potential that has been given you. Be relentless and passionate in your pursuit of your life\u2019s purpose.
