As\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mark_Twain\">Mark Twain<\/a>\u00a0tells great leaders: \u201c<em>If you have no time to rest, It\u2019s exactly the right time.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maya_Angelou\">Maya Angelou<\/a>\u00a0in her book,\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wouldn%27t_Take_Nothing_for_My_Journey_Now\">Wouldn\u2019t Take Nothing for My Journey Now<\/a>,<\/em>\u00a0give great leaders gentle counsel about the importance of rest:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cEvery person needs to take one day away. A day in which one consciously separates the past from the future. Jobs, family, employers, and friends can exist one day without any one of us, and if our ego permit us to confess, that they could exist eternally in our absence. Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for. Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ovid\">Ovid<\/a>\u00a0tells us:\u00a0<em>\u201cTake rest; a field that has rested gives a bountiful crop<\/em>.\u201d May gentle leaders be gentle with themselves and take time to rest and replenish.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eleanorbrownn.com\/\">Eleanor Brownn<\/a>\u00a0cautions them: \u201c<em>You cannot serve from an empty vessel<\/em>.\u201d And\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Plutarch\">Plutarch<\/a>\u00a0reminds great leaders that: \u201c<em>Rest is sweet to those who labor<\/em>.\u201d Take time and enjoy the sweetness. Take time to smell those beautiful roses in the garden of your magnificent life. Yes, you do what you got to do. Find time for you. You are very, very special.
