Everly, Jr<\/a>. writes:<em>\u00a0\u201c\u2026 managers who failed at leadership were those who lacked the ability to make difficult decisions.\u201d\u00a0<\/em>He believes the reason for this is that they lack resilience:\u00a0<em>\u201cIn order to make a difficult decision, it is necessary to believe in one\u2019s ability to rebound from failure should it occur. Resilient people are those who in the wake of adversity and failure rise like the Phoenix to greater strength than before.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em>Of resilience\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nelson_Mandela\">Nelson Mandela<\/a>\u00a0wrote:\u00a0<em>\u201cThe greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Albert_Camus\">Albert Camus<\/a>\u00a0told us:<em>\u00a0\u201cBlessed are the hearts that can bend, for they can never be broken.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/George_S._Patton\">George S.
