Stillman students flooded the University Center\u2019s Main Lounge to celebrate the business school\u2019s annual Integrity and Professionalism Scholarship Luncheon on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Award recipients were able to spend the afternoon celebrating with their family and friends, as they were each awarded with green scholarship cords and certificates. Attendees shared this joyous occasion with their loved ones, as well as with scholarship benefactors and Stillman school faculty and administrators. During the start of the ceremony, Dean Joyce Strawser welcomed the entire group and shared a moment of silent thanks with everyone in the room. Once faculty members and administrators introduced themselves, all attendees were invited to enjoy a nice buffet-style lunch before scholarship awards were announced.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many Leadership students have represented this year\u2019s scholarship roster. Approximately 49% of the scholarships were awarded to Leadership students. Many of the applications required students to submit an essay or video for judging. Some scholarships were merit-based, while other scholarship recipients were chosen by a faculty-member or departmental chair and advisor. It is safe to say, however, that all scholarship winners were deserving of their awards. Some scholarships that were awarded to our Leadership students were the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants Scholarship (NJSCPA), John M. Pocher Scholarship, Mutual Life Benefit Scholarship, Investors Bank Servant Leadership Award, and the James E. Searing Prize for Academic Excellence. <\/span><\/p>\n

The scholarship luncheon has come a long way since its conception. Dean Strawser stated that the Stillman School gave out a little over $40,000 worth of scholarship to its students during its inaugural year. Today, the school has surpassed this number by providing over $200,000 worth of scholarships due to the generosity of various families and alumni. The school has has set a goal of raising up to $300,000 worth of scholarships for the next year. We are so proud of all of the Leadership students that were scholarship recipients, and we are thankful to Seton Hall friends and families that donated their time and money in order to make these scholarships happen. <\/span><\/p>\n
