Leadership 101 Meeting with Kevin Cummings from Investor’s Bank

As part of this wonderful journey the freshman class of 2018 were able to meet CEO of Investor’s Bank, Kevin Cummings, on Wednesday, November 19th. Mr. Cummings provided the team with anecdotes and several inspirational quotes that the freshman will surely remember forever.

A few quotes Mr. Cummings told the freshman class were “Be childlike but not childish” and “your failures and mistakes are your biggest opportunities”. Mr.Cummings mentioned the important “Cs” of life which are: character, community, commitment, cooperation, competency and communication. He explained that the longest journey is going from a selfish child to a selfless adult. When asked about the freshman’s thoughts on the meeting, Andrew Aguilera commented saying, “I really like how he talked about helping others.”

Towards the end of the meeting right before the questionnaire, Mr. Cummings told the team about a few good reads that they should look into. “21 Rules of Leadership”, “Good Leaders Ask Good Questions”, and “5 Levels of Leadership” were among the picks. As we start a new week, remember that “a bad decision is better than no decision at all”.
