What I mean by this is the you have so many opportunities to get shots of your subjects because there are multiple swimmers all swimming multiple times. At the first meet I went to there were 3 schools and at least 30 athletes or more participating. Swimming is also not a very fast sport, nor is there any change in direction other then swimming up and down your lane. As a photographer you will always know where your subject is headed and can anticipate that, unlike many other sports.<\/p>\n
<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"143\" data-permalink=\"http:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/2018\/03\/19\/photographing-swimming\/shu-v-lehigh-3\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-3.jpg?fit=2048%2C1366\" data-orig-size=\"2048,1366\" data-comments-opened=\"1\" data-image-meta=\"{"aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":"","orientation":"0"}\" data-image-title=\"SHU v Lehigh 3\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-3.jpg?fit=747%2C498\" class=\"wp-image-143 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/barrysea\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-3.jpg?resize=335%2C223\" alt=\"\" width=\"335\" height=\"223\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-3.jpg?w=2048 2048w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-3.jpg?resize=315%2C210 315w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-3.jpg?resize=768%2C512 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-3.jpg?resize=750%2C500 750w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-3.jpg?w=1494 1494w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 335px) 100vw, 335px\" \/><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"142\" data-permalink=\"http:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/2018\/03\/19\/photographing-swimming\/shu-v-lehigh-18\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-18.jpg?fit=2048%2C1365\" data-orig-size=\"2048,1365\" data-comments-opened=\"1\" data-image-meta=\"{"aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":"","orientation":"0"}\" data-image-title=\"SHU v Lehigh 18\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-18.jpg?fit=747%2C498\" class=\"wp-image-142 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/barrysea\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-18.jpg?resize=334%2C222\" alt=\"\" width=\"334\" height=\"222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-18.jpg?w=2048 2048w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-18.jpg?resize=315%2C210 315w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-18.jpg?resize=768%2C512 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-18.jpg?resize=750%2C500 750w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.shu.edu\/GiveItAShot\/files\/2018\/03\/SHU-v-Lehigh-18.jpg?w=1494 1494w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 334px) 100vw, 334px\" \/><\/p>\n
Ideally when shooting swimmers you want to get there face and possibly cap in the shot because without that many shots just don’t look right.
